At the Ulverstone Presbyterian Church our vision is to be

“A dynamic community determined to grow like Christ, impacting our neighbourhood for Him”.

We are a group of people across different age groups who love to get together to learn more about God, to worship Him and to live out the reality of our faith in our day-to-day occupations.

We are part of the

Presbyterian Church of Australia

Dynamic, Growing and Impacting

(Our Vision Statement Explained)

God’s Word helps us as followers of Jesus Christ to understand what it means to be a dynamic community, to be growing like Christ, and to be impacting our neighbourhood for him.

Some example Bible passages which illustrate these things are:

Dynamic

Aliveness -

Colossians 3:23

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

Romans 12:11

Never be lacking in zeal, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.

Flexible

1 Corinthians 9:22–23

Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings.

Empowered for ministry

Ephesians 4:11–12

Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.

Committed

Romans 12:6–8

In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

Growing

Ephesians 4:14–15

Then we will no longer be immature like children. …Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.

Impacting

Matthew 5:13–16

You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
